1. Alcázar of Seville
Explore inside the Real Alcázar of Seville, a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its stunning Mudéjar, Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture. Don’t miss the beautifully landscaped gardens within the palace complex. Entry costs 13.50 euros but is free on Mondays for the last hour of admission. 2. Seville Cathedral
Visit the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, where you can see the tomb of Christopher Columbus and climb the Giralda Tower for panoramic views of the city. 3. Plaza de España
Admire the grandeur of this semi-circular square, surrounded by a canal, bridges, and beautiful tiled alcoves representing different provinces of Spain. Enjoy the flamenco performances held under the building and stroll through the nearby Parque de Maria Luisa and Plaza de America.
4. Flamenco Shows
Experience the soul-stirring art of Flamenco at one of the city’s renowned tablaos or local bars. Flamenco is a traditional Spanish art form characterized by its powerful and rhythmic dance, soulful singing, and intricate guitar playing, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Andalusia. 6. Las Setas
Check out the unique modern architecture of the wooden “mushrooms” in the Encarnación Square, offering a panoramic view of Seville from its rooftop. Furthermore, it comprises of six wooden parasols that provide shade during the day and transform into an illuminated spectacle at night. There are also family packages that are much more economical if you are traveling with a family.
7. Triana
Cross the Guadalquivir River to visit the Triana neighborhood, known for its vibrant nightlife, ceramic workshops, and lively atmosphere. Some places to check out are: Calle Betis, Castillo de San Jorge, Triana Bridge (Puente de Isabel II), Mercado de Triana, and Centro Cerámica Triana.
8. Bullfighting
Attend a bullfight at the Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza for an unforgettable cultural experience. For 10 euros per person you are able to tour the bullring and its rooms. Final Thoughts
Seville is one of my favorite cities to visit in Spain. From it’s beautiful architecture to the passionate flamenco, each of my visits to Seville comes with a story to tell.
